Burnaby Area Beaveree is an annual half-day outdoor event for Beaver Scouts!
At this event, each participating group is responsible for one activity station. The Beavers, with some Scouters, rotate through six activities based around a theme. They break for a snack halfway through before continuing on. Activities may be games, tests of skill, puzzles, crafts, or whatever the Scouters and youth have dreamt up.
After all the activity stations are done, the Beavers gather for supper and campfire.
In 2016 the Burnaby Area Beaveree coincided with Good Turn Week, and began a new tradition to give back at the event. That year, the Beavers donated $150 for purchase of Mosquito Nets to help children survive in malaria-stricken nations.
In 2017, we are giving back by donating gently used books and novels to the Write to Read project, which stocks libraries in remote First Nations communities.
